Define resolution for different games and applications

Hello, I have a Ati Radeon graphics card 4870. I configured resolutions color, brightness and so on ....according to my desktop screen and Based on settings test images. But what I use in navigation for everytime is not at all suited when I start to play any games. Everything is too bright and dark, contrasts are also ver poor. Also if I set up according to my game, then it becomes unbearable for the eyes in navigation ... Is there a way to have several types of configuration depending on the program used? if so how does it work? thank you

Catalyst Control Center => Profiles
Set each profile for every type of games that you play, and it will be auto-configured when you will launch a game.

You can also change in .exe of any game? I have seen some people tweaking the .ini file of the game or some type of notepad where the resolution is changed to support widescreens.
