Re: CPU compatible with the following motherboard?
The Fatal1ty AA8XE is ABIT’s LGA775 based motherboard. ABIT chose to mate this board with the Intel 925XE chipset. It boast full support for all LGA775 based processors including 1066MHz FSB processors.
So, its better to continue with the same Pentium processor.
Re: CPU compatible with the following motherboard?
Ah ok thanks and im a bit unfamilier with overclocking but im aware it can be quiet dangerous any idea of what to overclock it to and a few instructions on how would be amazing :D
Re: CPU compatible with the following motherboard?
I have a Compaq Presario SR1850NX. The processor is an AMD Athlon 64 2.2Ghz
My computer is running slow and I just put in an additional 2 Gig Ram and that is improvement, but when I work on video and slide shows it is very slow. I don't run screensavers often but when I do, they don't run smooth. I would like to upgrade the processor to see if that will solve the problem. I thought the graphics card might be at fault also..it is an ATI RADEON XPress 200. HP is no help. I need to know what would be compatable with the motherboard, but I can't seem to get through to them to find out. Any help would be appreciated.

What is your screen's NATIVE (MAXIMUM) resolution?
Is your screen running at its NATIVE (MAXIMUM) resolution?
If not - what? (It SHOULD be set at its NATIVE (MAXIMUM) resolution.
What was/is the resolution of the WINDOW which you say runs smoothly?
Create another slideshow project with the same images and NO PZR effects and then see if you get smooth transitions in Full-Screen Mode.
Re: CPU compatible with the following motherboard?
First of all, make sure you have the latest driver software for your video card. To get the latest version, you can go to the video card company's web site and download the driver update for free. I would suggest defragmenting the hard drive, since excessive hard disk scanning can prevent smooth audio and video playback. If neither of these options do the trick, try upgrading to the latest version of the software you are using to play the movies. Finally, if that doesn't work, you might just not have enough hardware power to play the video smoothly.
Re: CPU compatible with the following motherboard?
The resolution is on 1280X1024. I downloaded the drivers. It was a package that had the Visual C++ in it. I cannot open Paint Shop ProX2 because of it and I thought it might fix that too, but it didn't. The screensaver is running flawlessly and video too, so the drivers really helped. Thank you so much for your help. I almost wish I had a Mac to get rid of these C++ errors. Corel is no help. Thanks again for helping the helpless.
