How do i use the lan port on my computer for x360
Hello Friends,
I would like to know that is it possible for me to use the Lan on my computer to get connected with my Xbox 360. I would like to use my computer as a router, so can any body tell me that whether it is possible for me to do so? Can any body provide me the complete information on the above issue? Any kind of help would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot.

Use a cat5 / RJ45 cable and plug it into LAN port of your pc, this will create a connection to the pc, so it at least knows the 360 is there, you need to turn on internet connection sharing. Which version of windows determines how you set it up. But basically go to your wireless lan connection and have a look at it's properties. Connection sharing is somewhere around there.
You may have to set up other things as well though, including your firewall.

Sharing the internet connection through the PC is unecessary. Your wireless router can share the connection that's what routers are for.
The router should have ethernet ports, and they will probably be numbered. Connect your Xbox 360 to any of these numbered ports, and you should be good to go.

NAT works best when both routers are on different subnets. I myself had tried out. It works great.

There used to be a feature called port binding, or bundling, that would allow you to use both ports at the same time and essentially double your througput. Pretty useless unless you're a server sitting in a data center with huge pipes once I get a 2Gb/s line in my house, I suppose I can use it, too. Another option is to use the 2nd port for failover. If the 1st port ever fails, more advanced switch-routers can update their arp table and start sending traffic to the backup NIC without pause. As long as the 2nd port knows to become active, this scheme should ensure seamless failover. I'm pretty sure it requires separate e-net controllers, though, so I don't think it'll work on most desktop/workstation class motherboard with 2 net ports.
Re: How do i use the lan port on my computer for x360
I got to the routers settings page and it was just a one click thing. I unchecked the "Enable DHCP" and saved the settings. I tried it with my gaming adapter and stuff but I couldn't even get a internet connection with just my computer plugged into the switch. So I figure that a switch won't work just because like you said my gaming adapter will only get one IP address and might not split it up. I guess my best bet is to just go buy a Wireless-G adapter since they are so cheap and use it on my computer.
