What is Clonezilla?

Clonezilla Live is a Debian-based specialist live CD with software that enables users to clone the content of hard disks.

What are the eatures of Clonezilla LiveCD?

• Free (GPL) Software.
• Filesystem supported: ext2, ext3, reiserfs, xfs, jfs of GNU/Linux, and FAT, NTFS of M$ Windows. Therefore you can clone GNU/Linux or M$ windows.
• Unlike G4U or G4L, in Clonezilla, only used blocks in harddisk are saved and restored. This increase the clone efficiency.
• LVM2 under GNU/Linux is supported.
• Unicast and multicast are supported in PXEBoot Clonezilla, which is suitalbe for massively clone. You can also remotely use it to save or restore a bunch of computers if PXE and Wake-on-LAN are supported in your clients.
• A single machine clone system without installation, Clonezilla live, is also available.

Major bugs that are fixed in the version 1.2.1-53 :

• ocs-iso removed required files when using toram function and exit abnormally.
• Script to re-create recovery iso/zip file was not in the mode 755.

Clonezilla Live allows a user to clone an individual machine. A particular partition or entire disk can be cloned to another medium. This can be saved as an image file or as a replicated copy of the data. The data can be saved to locally attached storage, an SSH server, Samba Server or a NFS file share and then restore them at a later date. The software can be run from either a bootable USB flash drive or CD/DVD. This requires no modification to the machine as the software runs in its own environment.
