Missing e-mails in Netscape
Hello,
I use Netscape 6 and from the customary included mail program to download my mails from incredimail.
So now by the failed installation of another program for transferring pictures from development to online data stored in Netscape disappeared (pass word) and my full e-mail times. I assume the e-mails are still somewhere on the hard disk.
thanks in advance
Re: Missing e-mails in Netscape
Hello,
I had the same problem, when I tried to check my email, I was shocked to find that all 2004 messages were gone from the inbox, and there were only two 2004 sent messages, both from May. Missing were at least several hundred messages.
Of course I restarted the computer, but when I tried Netscape again the problem had not corrected itself.
I am now using IE 6.0 instead, which I have been preferring for months for most, but not all, browsing. Because of my preference for the Netscape email program (and my thousands of old messages and important folders in Netscape Messenger) I use IE only for browsing, and do not even have its email program installed (that because of security risks).
Re: Missing e-mails in Netscape
To solve this problem:
1) Make sure Netscape Communicator is closed
2) Open My Computer and double-click your way to the specific Netscape Mail Folder, usually C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users directory
3) Delete the .SNM files in this directory, being careful not to delete the regular files
4) Reopen Netscape and all your missing folders should now reappear.
