Re: SBS 2008 DNS Server not available
If you have a 3rd party firewall (internet security) uninstall it or make sure it is not blocking desired access.Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt,Type the following command:IPCONFIG /ALL.
Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.
If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.
Re: SBS 2008 DNS Server not available
hi,
Your ISP has your PPPoE on a private IP apparently behind NAT, using a proxy for web access. So using DNS other than what RASPPPOE gets automatically, may not help browser speed if the speed bog is in the web proxy.BTW 128 kbps may not be much faster than dialup, because dialup can use compression that may boost some simple downloaded traffic up to 115 kbps (depending upon serial speed or USB). PPPoE does not use compression.
Re: SBS 2008 DNS Server not available
Just make a DNS Record for "zenwsimport".The record should be placed in the PCs default Domain so that the pc can ping "zenwsimport" w/o any extra info such as .acme.com
