Re: Header first page only
It is bit complicated but possible. Just follow these steps for making Header and Footer on first page only:
- Open Word and clock View.
- Click Header and Footer.
- Here click Icon for Page Setup.
- In the opened window click Layout Tab.
- Click Different first page in window to turn on checkmark, click OK.
- Type in the information on your first page header and footer.
That’s it. Now the header and footer should not appear on the 2nd and other pages of this document.
Re: Header first page only
Thank you very much for the help Casher, I appreciate that. But sorry to say that we already have a letterhead set up with a header and footer which shows on all pages, but we only want it to show on page 1. Not subsequent pages. I should have mentioned this before, my mistake. But now do I need to create a new Letterhead to make it work with your method?
Re: Header first page only
The concept of showing a header on the first page only seems like it would be a very common desire (it's what I wanted to do) in Word 2003.
After trying numerous permutations suggested on various forums, all without success, I finally (and fortunately) found yours. It worked (thank you!!).
Hard to understand why such a seemingly common task would be so poorly defined in MS Word.
Thanks again!
