Found New Hardware MTP Device
Hi,
I have a huge problem.
My PC recognizes today about every 3-4 seconds a new hardware device called MTP. It seems to me as if the Windows installation to run, but it remains as it is hanging and trying again. If I were in the Control Panel / Hardware it will look like the following error message:
You can not install 2 devices simultaneously.
Another device is currently being installed. After the installation you can run this wizard again.
Since this hardware detection occurs, Services.exe permanently occupied about 50% processor power.
I can imagine that the whole bit with the WD myBook has to do what I bought yesterday. However, it ran the last 2 days without problems and has only now come out of the blue started. Have already uninstalled all the drivers WD.
Do not know what more I should do. Please help me!

Re: Found New Hardware MTP Device
It has nothing to do with with your Wd mybook.
Just go to Control Panel > Taskbar & Start Menu.
Then on the Taskbar menu hit "Customize" That will show you the current items in your taskbar. You should have one that says "<no title>" - that is the MTP Device. Click on the "Hide when inactive" and change it to "Always hide".
This should have no affect on you being able to put music on your device. Hope this helps, and good luck with everything!
Re: Found New Hardware MTP Device
what is happening is the computer keeps on trying to install the hardware which u have recently plugged in but haven't installed. since it cant find the files it keeps on trying.. the best thing to do is to remove the hardware which it is trying to install in this case.. the MTP device . THE SOLUTION is to remove it;
1 right click on my computer then
2 on properties then
3 hardware tab in the tab click on
4 device manager (youill see that it keeps on refreshing the lists of hardware)
5 uninstall the hardware who's software is not installed (in this case select mtp device)
6 after the successful uninstall you should be GOOD
Hope it Works... It did!!!
