Can't delete file in windows vista
Hi,
I have been trying to delete the files for firfox by going to my C://programfiles. When every I ask for it to delete it says I need permission. That goes for other program files also. I'm trying to manually get rid of the old files, but I need permission.
please help!!
Re: Can't delete file in windows vista
press flag key and R key at the same time.
type: cmd
type: net user administrator/active:yes
To disable that command just type after active:no
Now log off as you then log in as the administrator
Remove the software you want. By default the password for the admin is blank. If you're at a company now they might have set in GP to block or encrypt the password for the Admin. Otherwise you'll be set.
Another way to get around all this new blockage is to use:
press the flag key on the keyboard and R
type: control user passwords2
Here you can make sure that the account you're using has the right permissions. Still under Vista I had to use the net user command to get this done.
Re: Can't delete file in windows vista
If Vista won't let you uninstall and you are blocked from doing it via the programs own uninstall program.
Log off the computer and log by on with the User name Administrator. It should now let you do it by removing the program files, Then get a registry cleaner program either or both.
Use
CCleaner or
Wise registry cleaner
