ATI Radeon HD 4870 does not run under Vista 64 bit

I have the following problem: I have a new computer put together and assembled. These are the components:

Processor: Intel E8400 Boxed
Board: MSI P45 Neo2-FR
Memory: 4GB A-DATA Vitesta 800MHz CL5
Graphics card: SapphireHD 4870 1024MB
PSU: Enermax PRO82 + 525W
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 640GB
Case: Cooler Master CM 690
OS: Windows Vista Business 64 Bit

After installation of Windows will run everything just wonderful, however, I install the graphics drivers (previously in the device manager is "Standard VGA" or something) breaks down the PC at boot time after the green loading bar every time Windows and restart. Then can I use the PC only in safe mode. I am using the very latest drivers from the home page for Windows Vista 64 bit.

The driver from the supplied CD / DVD and then install the update.

If this does not work, the card is probably defective!
