I have a case that my current location will have many remote user to
use my segment. They obtain the IP from my DHCP server but the currently
DNS Suffix is not for their home. May I know how can I add more DNS
suffix to those client automatically?
It was because they are not belong to our 2003 AD and they are using the
XP. I can't deploy by Policy. does any way I can do it on the DHCP server?
I'm confused. Are they connecting via a VPN client application? If so, they
should be getting the relevant IP address info for your network, from your
equipment, and you can control the DNS suffix within your own DHCP server
(or whatever you're using for the VPN clients).
I don't know what you mean by "currently DNS suffix is not for their home."
On their home network (LAN connection), their IP address info & DNS suffix
is something you cannot control, but it shouldn't matter.
My location was many mobile user will travel there and they will use
this notebook and plugin into my existing DHCP subnet! They come from
UK, USA, SG, JP........
I would like to add multiple DNS suffix on their Notebook. Is it
possible to do it automatically? I have try to find the DHCP option 135
but can't find it. Does any way can make it automate?

So you have traveling users who come into your office and plug their
notebooks in with an Ethernet cable to connect to your network
Sorry, but I still don't understand what you mean. Please be more specific.
Your DHCP server should be giving out the DNS suffix for your domain, not
any others for any other purpose. When the notebook users are physically on
your network they don't need anything else.
When they go connect to another network, *that* network's DHCP server
should give them the DNS suffix they need for it.
This doesn't matter if the DHCP server gives them the DNS suffix for your
domain
Is your DHCP server running on Windows? In 2003 & older, at least, it's
option 015 - "DNS Domain Name.
Not via DHCP, only via group policy, which you can't use as they aren't in
your domain. Why do you think you need to add more than just the one suffix
to these PCs? The existing ones that are specifically set on those
workstations won't just disappear. If I understand your setup correctly, all
you need is to do is to add the one for your internal AD domain while
they're connected to your network.
Sorry for my english was not enough. My location was in Japan. We have
many user that come from another country. The existing Japan domain
suffix was only abc.co.jp. However, the travel users's domain suffix may
be abc.com, abc.com.hk, abc.co.kr, abc.com.cn.....
Now, my problem was how can I config the user to have multiple DNS
suffix without modify the user's notebook one by one manually?
They are not belong to our 2003 AD and we can't use policy to deploy
these DNS suffix onto their notebook. The only things we can control was
on the DHCP server. I have try to search from the internet that DHCP
Scope 135 option can delivery the DNS suffix but I can't find this
option. Does any way I can add multiple DNS suffix onto their notebook
without one-by-one manual config each notbook?
I have try 015 option but it just only can give signal domain suffix. I
have about 4 domain suffix need to add the the client. Does any way to
do it?

Let me explain, my scenario:
My domain , let's call it domainA. Works closely with another domain ( companyB) company B has several branches - companyB.com and companyB.org
I receive stub records of their DNS,
To make things easier for the users, instead of having them, call \\server.companyb.com I'd like to add multiple dns search suffixes i.e.
companyB.com
companyB.org
so that users, can just call server, and it will add the suffixes in order and find said server.
This I can do in the advanced TCP/IP settings > DNS tab per machine, but i'd like to add multiples through something like, GPO or DHCP scope settings
Nevermind. found my answer, you can by adding a comma between the various suffixes in GPO, add multiples.
Computer Config > Admin Templ > Network > DNS Client > DNS Suffix Search List.
I added companyB.com,companyB.org
The end result: DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : companyB.com
companyB.org
