im trying to find a hardware component that takes the output from a microcontroller and translates it to a video signal that can be used by a projector for display.
would very much appreciate it if someone tells me what it might be called.

I think its a part of digital electronics. Such hardware component that converts output from a micro controller to required form, can be suggested by some electronics expert having fair knowledge of micro controller as well.
