Demoting Domain Controller?
I have got 2 Domain controllers and Windows 2003 Standard and I want to retire one of them. Can anyone tell me what is the best way to release it from the network? I remember that I have to demote it from the role of DC first but I do not know for sure how to go ahead? Can anyone please help me? Thanks.
Re: Demoting Domain Controller?
To demote a domain controller
- On a domain controller, click Start, and then click Run.
- In Open, type dcpromo to open the Active Directory Installation Wizard, and then click Next.
- On the Remove Active Directory page, click Next, and then continue to follow the wizard.
