I have samsung SH-S202J DVD writer. From past one month , when i try to reburn a dvd tht was previously burnt(multisession discs), Nero 6,Nero7,Power2GO all these does not detect the disc`s content and show that the disc can not be recorded. I upgraded the firmware and after that only once the burning software Power2Go detected but after that again it shows unusable disc. I used lens cleaner also but there was no effect. Pls help me to detect the problem.
Did you Tried Burning a new Blank Dvd ? if not then try burning with a new blank cd/dvd because it maybe possible that your multisession disc may be corrupted and unreadable by your reader
This is probably the last one you want to hear but i had the same problem in my computer repair class and well, it ended up we had to buy a new dvd burner. After that, it worked perfectly :/
Is it happening only with the 1 dvd that you are trying? Have you tried to burn with another disks that are multi session? If that is the problem on only 1 multisession disk, then it must be a problem of that disk only, as Aakaar said.
If you had burned an image file on that problem dvd, then i think you cannot add multisession. I had faced such problems writing multisession on image written disks. An imagefile is a closed session by nature and should be burned as disc at once. Perhaps you can try with WinIso or UltraIso.

no the problem is not only one dvd but it is on every dvd...............when i burn a blank dvd it burns absolutely fine but to re-write on that disc is not possible
