DDR2-1066: OCZ or G.Skill
Which of the two best of memories are best to overclock?
OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2-1066 (PC2-8500) Dual Channel - OCZ2G10664GK

With these memories, the fsb clock and the memories are not synchronized.
With timmings and frequency: 4-4-4-12 @ 900.
With it, the FSB clock and the memories will be synchronized.
Which of the 2 are more interesting?
I will acquired two kits, so they will be with 800, reaching 1066 or more through overclock.
Re: DDR2-1066: OCZ or G.Skill
I would of G. Skill 1066mhz PI or PI 900MHz, which are basically the same memory, only with different specifications. Both should be able to overclock ~ 1100MHz.
Re: DDR2-1066: OCZ or G.Skill
The G. Skill 1066 uses a PCB, 8 layers while the 900 uses 6. In any case, the motherboard (P5QC) with a QUAD does not allow me to go far beyond the 1100Mhz.
That is quite limited OCZ, there's no 5% over 1066 in relation to that and also has the worst timming between the 2. Is this PI comes to 1100? It is more than 20% from over.
Re: DDR2-1066: OCZ or G.Skill
The best memories were already launched - DDR2 Crucial Ballistix 667. Reach higher than 1400MHz clock, ie exceed 100% Overclock. The rating of less memory is what counts.
Re: DDR2-1066: OCZ or G.Skill
I am grateful to have participation of you SUpER CoP by topic.
I have the same PI BLACK 900.
At that went searching, it goes to 960 MHz with timings and frequency, like 4-4-4-12. It will be in sync with the FSB, which should be around 470 ~ 480 at P5QC with a QUAD.
Re: DDR2-1066: OCZ or G.Skill
The series is OCZ for Over-the ReaperX. This is for there to compete with the Corsair in stock it. The ReaperX have lifetime warranty covering up to v2.3.
