Wishing to buy a new configuration very soon for me as a home-studio, and using software to manage multi-processors , I intend to buy a processor to 4 hearts. However, I hesitate much, because many models are present actually.
My processor budget of around 10,000 - 15,000
For now, I wear my choice on the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450. Is it a good choice?
Feel free to say whatever you know about the 4-core processors

The rest of my configuration is a motherboard based on P45 chipset (GA-EP45-DS3 or Asus P5Q Pro), with 4 GB of RAM all in a Antec Sonata III.
I called a few shops in the neighborhood and apparently, they sell more Q9450, because they have been replaced by the Q9550, they only sell for 15,000. I spotted as an alternative, the Core 2 Quad Q9400, the only difference lies in the cache; 6mb instead of 12mb; is this important? What is the value of the cache in applications designed for multitasking?
Apparently, the Q9400 rises more easily overclocking and can match the Q9550 and I've never done overclocking, is that it will be possible with my setup and with the heatpipe of origin?
What processor would be the best choice for you?
