VPN connects but cannot ping server
Hi, we are running SBS 2003 Premium SP2 with ISA 2000. After lost of try finally I managed to successfully configure and connect to VPN, but don’t know why I’m atill not able to ping the server or browse to any shares.
Can anyone tell me what could be the problem and how can I fix it out? Many thanks.

Most of the time when we apply SP2 on the SBS, some registry settings gets change and such problem may occur. So here is what you need to do:
- Open Regedit and locate the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\IpNat\Parameters - On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type DisableBootTimeSecurity, and then press ENTER.
- On the Edit menu, click Modify.
- Click Decimal, type 1 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
- Restart the server and check whether VPN can work.

It seems to be working now after adding that registry key and restarting the server.

vpn connected but cannot ping remote server and access shared folders
Hi. Good day to all!
I Need your help regarding our office's VPN connection. We have an SBS2003 server behind a DLink DFL-800 VPN/Firewall router. VPN is configured in the router and connects successfully but once connected, I cannot ping the remote server's ip address and cannot see the remote network's files and folders.
RRA is disabled on the SBS2003 server. Shared files and folders have no problem when accessed locally.
Using Dlink's ping tool, I can ping the vpn client's IP address and vice versa.
Remote server's IP address: 192.168.2.b
DLink IP: 192.168.2.a
VPN client: 192.168.2.80 -99 (configured ip pool)
