error 1335 when installing office home and student 2007
I am having a Office 2007 Home and Student edition, that is already installed on 2 PCs and trying to installing it on the third and final system. Yes, it was licensed for 3 pc's. Now the problem is whenever I try to install it on the third one running with Windows Vista, installation gets fail with the error message:
Error message 1335. The cabinet files 'HomeSrWW.CAB" required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
Can some help me out fixing this please ?
Re: error 1335 when installing office home and student 2007
As far as my knowledge and as your error itself says “an error reading from the CD-ROM”, it is surely the CD problem. Installation is not able to read the disk properly hence you getting the problem. Well what you can do is remove the CD, clean it with soft cloth or cotton and reinsert. Star the installation and see if you get the same error.
If still you find the same problem, simply copy the CD files and folders to a new folder on Desktop or anywhere on your harddrive. Make sure to copy each hidden files as well. Now run the setup.exe file right from the root of this folder. It should work.

Looks like some internally damage file of Office is giving out the issue. The only way to fix the problem is running a repair setup of Microsoft Office. That would be enough to fix the issue. Go in Control Panel and click on Microsoft Office in that. At the right bottom you can see a change or remove button. Click on that and a setup would begin. Select Repair and initiate the process. This would be enough to fix the problem you are facing. You can also try to overwrite the existing installation by downloading a fresh copy of office.

You have to go with re-installation but to avoid the error you will need to wipe out the old setup. Or else it is not going to work properly. What you have to do is firs uninstall the old Microsoft Office from your system. Download tools like CCleaner in your system and run it. It will scan your system and show you the amount of unwanted files in your system. You will have to clean it and then go ahead with new installation. This will wipe out the issue. Sometime running Windows update also resolves and huge number of issues in the system.
