safe temperature after overclocking core i5 4670k
I have a Intel i5 core 4670k processor in my system and I have overclocked it to 4.0ghz at 1.1v. After overclocking this processor when I checked its temperature then it was at 70 degrees celcius and around 67 degrees celcius on average. This results I was getting on the prime 95 program. Can anyone please tell me whether this is a safe temp or high temp for this processor? Thanks
Re: safe temperature after overclocking core i5 4670k
Can you tell us whether you are using any CPU cooler in your computer or not? The intel core temperature that you are getting is within Intel's specs. Anything above 75C temperature is not good for any CPU. But I will recommend you to buy a good CPU cooler and install it inside the case, it will take off some 5-10C temperature from your CPU or from what you are getting now.
Re: safe temperature after overclocking core i5 4670k
One of my friend has the same CPU that you have in his Asus build. He is also using a heatsink and a fan to cooldown the temperature. I have heard that Haswell processors run a little hot with the cheap CPU coolers. Also the inbuilt coolers in the computer or fans wont be able to cool it well after you overclocked your CPU. So, try to get a big air cooler that will reduce the temp for sure.
Re: safe temperature after overclocking core i5 4670k
I think that the maximum safe temperature for a Intel core i5 4670k after overclocking would be 88C, tehnically. But same temperature should not be forced to the CPU as it will get destroyed. So I will recommend you to not to push anything above 80C temperature for the longer living of the core i5 4670k CPU that you have.
