Adobe Indesign vs Illustrator
Hello,
So Illustrator and InDesign actually fulfill two entirely different purposes. Both of the softwares perform different tasks.
Example:
- In Illustrator you create a logo, a drawing or symbols.
- In Photoshop (to be classified in the chain) you edit your photos.
- In InDesign you then sets the various elements (text, photographs, logos), together with a layout or to the journal.
- For a magazine InDesign would be the right choice.
So how can I compare indesign and illustrator? Any more discussion on this topic is appreciated. Thank you.
Re: Adobe Indesign vs Illustrator
I would buy the entire Adobe Creative Suite 2, ie a price for one to two programs. This includes: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat. I had indeed thought of already, just because one is also fast times and that is simply too expensive then when I really only one program really need, a direct comparison of the two programs you know or not?
Re: Adobe Indesign vs Illustrator
It is hard to really compare both the softwares, because the two programs have very different priorities. InDesign handles the layout and design is not for creating graphics or vector data set. Illustrator scores on the other hand as well and it is unsuitable for the creation of larger layouts (read everything on one, two sides goes). You have to know what the programs are to be purchased at all. And to this end is also aimed at your choice.
If you need more information on both the software see below

Re: Adobe Indesign vs Illustrator
I do not know if this comparison is correct, but this is what I feel about the softwares
- InDesign layout program (perfect for your purposes)
- Illustrator to create graphics in the broadest sense
If you want to compare and contrast what and then take Quark and InDesign.
Re: Adobe Indesign vs Illustrator
I work at the moment on a folder, and I am having a stress which I dry for several days without finding a solution.
1) I create a new doc in illustrator, CMYK. I realize my illustration.
2) flatten transparencies and saves it. Eps
3) I created a new doc in Indesign (display performance = quality), tjs in cmyk, and I import my. Eps
The difference between the colors in illustrator and indesign are really. This is Unacceptable. I tried many options in terms of transparency flattening:
Quad
Preserve Alpha Transparency
Keep overprinting and spot colors
I also tried copy paste and drag clicked (not great, but it's good for testing)
Any more ideas? Thanks for you replies.
Re: Adobe Indesign vs Illustrator
I do not know how it goes for ID, but in Xpress can not rely on color display imported images (in other software either but that's another story). Indeed, the images were imported for informative purposes only on the LAYOUT, not on colorimetric. So what we see on screen is often pixelated and dull colors, but once you print, the original parameters of the image are preserved. Finally it is the simplistic view that I have things.
Re: Adobe Indesign vs Illustrator
I tried opening your file in Illustrator CS2 and importing it into indesign CS2, I have no color difference.
my settings synchronized through Bridge:
Workspace:
RGB: ECI RGB V2
CMYK: 300% ISO Coated v2 (ECI)
Rules for color management: (important)
RGB: Preserve Embedded Profiles
CMYK: Store numbers (Ignore related profiles)
Options:
Engine: Adobe
Fashion: Perception
