Amend the stop button to close session in Vista
Hello everyone,
Here I do some research on the net to change the stop button Sign on Vista. Unfortunately I found nothing. There is everything you want to change off, suspend, hibernate ... In my opinion it should be possible to amend it in the registry but I do not know what key or even modify what value for it. I want to change the stop button to close session on my work because we can not turn off the PC so that the department can do updates. Have you got a solution to this problem?
Thank you

I think you want to change the stop button to shut down your Vista machine. Refer to this solution http://forums.techarena.in/tips-tweaks/1104651.htm
Re: Amend the stop button to close session in Vista
You can prohibit the shutdown and reboot using the security strategy.
It is a way to circumvent.
You can settle on the buttons in front of the tower, to pause on the keyboard or the menu by standby (standby / hybrid / extended) in vista and xp, but against, to close the session.

Here's how to change the setting for your Start menu Power button:
- Open the Start menu and select Control Panel.
- Double-click on Power Options.
- Click the Choose What the Power Button Does link, in the tasks pane.
- In the Power Button Settings area, choose either Do Nothing, Sleep, or Shut Down from the drop-down list.
A. Click this drop-down menu.
B. and choose what action Vista should take when the Power button is clicked.
And you are done. Hope that helps
