gigabyte hd 7970 eyefinity question
I recently purchased a new Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 graphics card for gaming. I was also looking to run Eyefinity on 3 lcd monitors but it is not working properly at the moment. This video card is able to find all the 3 screens but it seems to be working on only 2 screens. I have updated the graphics driver to the latest? Is there any other setting that I am not aware of? Please help
Re: gigabyte hd 7970 eyefinity question
Can you tell us whether you are using display port? Can you post all your technical specifications of your setup here. If you want Eyefinity to work then you will need your 3 monitors connected like the below format:
monitor connected to (dvi or hdmi) connected to GPU
monitor connected to (dvi or hdmi) connected to GPU
monitor connected to (dvi or hdmi or displayport) connected to ACTIVE adapter connected to mini display port connected to GPU
Re: gigabyte hd 7970 eyefinity question
If you want to get your eyefinity setup to work then you will need to go to a computer store and get yourself an Active Display Port. You have to ensure that it is active, because many times the store keeper giev you standar display port which will not be active. After that you can use this active one in your eyefinity setup pretty easily.
Re: gigabyte hd 7970 eyefinity question
Even I agree that you have to buy an Active Mini displayport adapter to make your eyefinity setup for your system. After purchasing one, you have to connect the cards mini display port and one of your lcd monitor. After that your card will set that monitor as a the main display in eyefinity, put this monitor in the middle. For the other 2 monitors you can just connect them to your card using hdmi or dvi cables.
