Secure IMAP / POP :
This one is the first way to secure your email. When users connect to your mail server using IMAP or POP, they (or rather their mail clients) are invited to enter their login information. Normally, this information is transmitted in clear text, meaning that anyone with network access (whether from the LAN or via an unsecured wireless connection) can intercept the username and user passwords.
