XP-SP3 restart after standby and hibernate
After I upgraded Windows XP from SP2 to SP3 I am having issues with standby and hibernate mode. It will work actually but the system starts up again immediately. When I was having SP2 then it didnt have any issues with same mode? Also on the C: drive there is more free space then used space. Can anyone tell me how to solve this issues? Thanks
Re: XP-SP3 restart after standby and hibernate
Have you checked the status of 'wake on Lan' in your Bios? Is there any programs scheduled in your system?
Re: XP-SP3 restart after standby and hibernate
I have set once a week the defrahment disk program schedule and also the default check for updates for Windows every one hour. So, incase I delete the scheduled programs then will it solve the issues for me? Thanks for the reply.
Re: XP-SP3 restart after standby and hibernate
There might be another issue that if you have insufficient disk space then going into standby mode will be aborted because of lack of room to store memory image.
Re: XP-SP3 restart after standby and hibernate
So, I have disabled all the scheduled programs but my computer starts immediately after hibernating or standy mode. As, I have said earlier, I have got more free disk space on the C: drive then used on.
