Dell Dimension XPS- T500 motherboard
Hey Folks
I'm having a Dell Dimension XPS- T500 motherboard, which currently has a Pentium III 500 chip on it. I would like to know that is it possible for me to upgrade my motherboard? Does any body knows about it? Kindly let me know your views on the above issue. any kind of help on the above issue would be appreciated.
Re: Dell Dimension XPS- T500 motherboard
I too have an XPS T500 and I made the Powerleap 1.4GHz upgrade and it works great. You should verify the voltages with a meter. To energize the PS outside the case you jumper pins 14 to 13-or-15 normally but there's no guarantee it will be the same on the Dell.
Re: Dell Dimension XPS- T500 motherboard
It was an easy install, just set the jumper for the 100fsb board, take out the old CPU and pop in the new one and hook up the power source. You can mount a pentium III processor with a 100Mhz fsb. You can also mount a Pentium III processor with a FSB at 133Mhz but you need a software to overclock your chipset.

If you want to upgrade your Dell Dimension XPS- T500 motherboard it should be possible, for you to do so. You need to make sure there is a boot partition at the start of the drive on your system.
