Power consumption in ATI Radeon HD 6770
I am planning to get ATI Radeon HD 6770 except i don't recognize if my PSU can knob it. My PSU is Quoltec SilentLine 520W with single 6 pin-connector. Along with this i have Intel i3 540-3.06 GHz, 4gb dd3 memory,1 HDD and that’s all. Not anything is overclocked and i don’t aim to. Do you think that this card ATI Radeon HD 6770 have adequate power from pci express slot as well as the 6 pin connector to run excellent?
Re: Power consumption in ATI Radeon HD 6770
The power consumption of the graphics card, we determine a use for this purpose in our laboratory, modified, PCI-Express adapter. The values obtained thus correspond only to the consumption of the graphics card itself and not the power consumption of the entire system. The power of the PCI Express slot, and those on 12-volt power supply lines are simultaneously measured using a clamp ammeter. The (constant) power consumption of the 3.3 volt rail is determined separately and is included in the overall results shown. Further details and background to the measurements found in our article on the subject of an initial power consumption of graphics cards.

If we look at performance / watt watch, then it might be more economical, but I doubt it still. But if you compare modern cards than Geforce 4 cards provide all the modern performance / watt, so it's not really remarkable. Only when they are actually faster than the previous generation and not only relatively but absolutely less power, I would call it more economical.
Re: Power consumption in ATI Radeon HD 6770
When I see that 6750 more power than the 5750 I see no economical maps. I think the 6750 uses even more power than the 5770. Also consumes more power than the 6770 and 5770 slightly less than 5850.
I do not see cards that will use less power, only cards that just consume more power. Idle power is as shown also increased making them even more idle power consumption.
Re: Power consumption in ATI Radeon HD 6770
A 300-watt power supply is not suited to providing this graphics card and the appropriate hardware, complete (and probably also of the circuits / connections not designed at all).
I recommend the use of a power supply with around 550 watts, there should be no such devices for several reasons operated at full capacity. Also, your ears will appreciate it if the fan does not need to run under full load.

I encompass a couple of 6770 and I make use of a corsair 650. You must ensure the manufactures web site. However if my memory serves you require 450w to carry out a crossfire set up otherwise it ought to not be an problem
