Task Scheduler failed to start ........ Additional Data: Error Value: 2147943726.
Anyone know anything about scheduling?
I have a schedule set up to:
Start a programme - when the computer is idle - whether i'm logged on or
not - stop if the computer ceases to be idle
This works perfectly for a few days - basically works whilst ever wife or
myself are not using the machine
but after a few days it stops - well every time it attempts it's stopped
with the eroor message:
Task Scheduler failed to start "my prog". Additional Data: Error Value:
2147943726.
I know that if i delete the schedule and re-built it - it will start working
perfectly again for a few more days
Re: Task Scheduler failed to start ........ Additional Data: Error Value: 2147943726.
I just noticed a parameter:
'Stop the task if it runs longer than 3 days'
I was assuming that this meant if the task was running 3 days
'continuously' - could that be the problem?

For anyone else with this problem - the error message relates to a problem
with login credentials - which in turn seems to be a problem with Vista User
Account Control - the task works fine but then appears to forget login
credentials after a computer boot/restart - which seems to agree with my own
issues

If anyone is still searching for the answer of this problem then I have a solution for you. Usually when anyone changes the password then this error occurs. The best solution is to go to Task Scheduler and then click on the scheduled job properties and then settings in the last option. If the task is running already then select "stop the existing instance" from the drop down list and save and exit.

First of all open Task Scheduler and then right click on the Task. After that select Properties and then choose "Run whether user is logged on or not". After that click ok. You can also try to automate tasks with Task Scheduler by going to this link - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...sta-Inside-Out. Hope this helps
