what is the scope in BSc Optometry, job and salary wise?
I have completed 12 std with good marks and now I am looking to join BSC. Optometry. But before that can anyone tell me what is the scope or job oppourtunity and the salary range in this field? I hope that since it is a science field so we will definitely get good benefits by completing this field. Has anyone had any experience after completing this course? Thanks
Re: what is the scope in BSc Optometry, job and salary wise?
There is an immense scope in India for Optometry because there are not more numbers of Optometrists enough in our country. You can easily get a job in this field. You can also try to practice solely with your own clinic or else if you want then you can also practice in groups or in hospitals or optical outlets. The salary that you can expect on an average stands upto Rs. 15000 but if you are good then you can easily make more than Rs. 30000. Also if you can practice privately then you will get more income.

There is a good scope for Optometric practice in India and even on out-side countries. As per the reports shown on different websites, one third of the person in the world are blind who are from Indian origin and there are also millions of other people who suffer from defective vision. You can therefore expect a demand for qualified optometrists in India and it will rise very sharply in the coming years. In many new hospitals optometrists are much in demand.
