Can't empty Snow Leopard trash
Hi, I have a problem with the trash from the installation of Snow Leopard, When I put a file in the trash and empty it I said "deleting 4 files" and is long enough for the removal of 1 file. Also when I wanted to delete a 4.7GB MKV it lasts so long that I'm forced to relaunch the finder. (I had to go through bootcamp in windows to remove it). How is it with you?
Re: Can't empty Snow Leopard trash
It is true that the trash is very slow to empty when we go to Snow Leopard ...
to address:
- Click on the Desktop
- Menu top left Finder - Preferences
- Advanced Options
- Unchecked empty the trash in secure mode ...that's all .
Re: Can't empty Snow Leopard trash
Maybe he uses the dump option in safe mode. How are you doing to clear it? Perhaps you used the wrong keyboard shortcut? I right click on the trash can "empty the trash", there an option that the dump , have you used it?
Re: Can't empty Snow Leopard trash
Hello
Repair Permissions perhaps? Does "Empty trash in secure mode" works? (Finder menu) tries to disable Time Machine in System Preferences and then empty your trash: If it works, you can then re-TM.
Re: Can't empty Snow Leopard trash
Good evening,
Download and install batchmode. from the context menu, choose Force the Trash to empty. BatChmod is a Cocoa utility for manipulating file and folder privileges in Mac OS X (10.5 recommended). It allows the manipulation of ownership as well as the privileges associated to the Owner, Group or others. It is available for download here.
