HP laptop wont connect to Belkin wireless router
Few days ago the HP laptop would not connect to the Belkin wireless router. All other devices (iPad, iPhone, wireless HP printer) connect well. I took to laptop to a free wifi restaurant and it connected just fine. Some of the things I already did:
1. Unisntall and installed the adaptor.
2. Turned router, modem and laptop off/on
3. Tried different things with devmgmt.msc, services, msconfig, device manager
I suspect the IP might be the problem, but have no idea how to fix such thing. Any other things I can do?
Thanks.
Re: HP laptop wont connect to Belkin wireless router
I have heard that some Belkin 802.11g wireless-routers implemented a "turbo" or "108 Mbps" mode that is not compatible with the 802.11g standard. Check to see if anything like this is enabled on your Belkin and if so, turn it off.
Re: HP laptop wont connect to Belkin wireless router
Thanks Zachary for the info. Before I followed your recommendations, the Wii stopped connecting to the router as well. The easy solution for me was replace the router, so far it all is working fine. Thanks
