unable to install driver for my new bluetooth device via usb
I bought an bluetooth dongle usb port.
After I inserted, it tried to install driver, but failed with all option.
When I go to Device Manager, I saw 2 "new" items under Bluetooth Radios
1) CSR Bluetooth Radio
2) Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator
IM not sure if they are new here or there long time ago.
And another new thing for sure is
Other Device > Unknown device
Hardware ids :
BTHENUM\{0000111e-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}_LOCALMFG&000f
Compatible lds :
BTHENUM\{0000111e-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}
I tried what microsoft windows suggest, which is the broadcom's bluetooth driver, it doesnt work, and never go anywhere when it is detecting the bluetooth device.
I did some search on the chip, it seems using Cambridge Silicon Radios Ltd.
I tried to locate the drive for it, all goes to some spam sites with virus....
Anyone used something like this?
Thanks.
Re: unable to install driver for my new bluetooth device via usb
First set a System Restore point and test it. For that you need to click on start --> run, then you need to type in msconfig --> Launch System Restore. You also need to navigate to C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386\sp2.cab . Right click file and explore. find usbstor.sys, right click and extract to desktop. Go into the device manager. If you see a yellow exclamation mark next to the usb devices it is just a driver issue. If not it could be that he ports are blown.

You meant create a new restore point and test it?

I cant find \Driver Cache\, could it be something else in Windows Vista?
