BlackBerry 10 might release on PlayBook Devices in few weeks
The BlackBerry PlayBook could soon receive a facelift by hosting a major upgrade of its operating system.
BlackBerry manufacturer has initiated a work around of BlackBerry 10 for the PlayBook, which is the new operating system found in the Z10 and Q10 smartphone. The PlayBook OS is actually built around QNX and initiates the characteristic of BlackBerry 10 interface and to move from one application to another without having to return to the home screen.
In May 2012, BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins confirmed that the tablet would be updated on BlackBerry 10. However, the manufacturer seems to move away gradually from the tablet market. Last month, Mr. Heins stated in an interview obtained by Bloomberg that "in five years there will be more reasons to own a tablet." He added that the tablets are not alone to make a good business model. Five months after the release of BlackBerry 10, the updated PlayBook becomes uncertain.
The tweet from BlackBerry Mexico has recently published a message explaining to a visitor that the update in question will be available in "a few weeks". The message in question was however withdrawn. The question is whether the information was confidential or simply wrong.
Re: BlackBerry 10 might release on PlayBook Devices in few weeks
Thorsten Heins is the CEO of BlackBerry, has confirmed the rumor that the PlayBook tablet will indeed have the right to move to BlackBerry 10. The BlackBerry PlayBook is still not dead. Despite its advanced age (in the middle of the high-tech means, where months are similar to year in terms of life), the tablet will indeed be entitled to update to the new BlackBerry 10 experience, the fact that the PlayBook OS is based on QNX. However, no date has been mentioned about when PlayBook will be enjoying the brand new OS.
