Sony Ericsson C905 with Its 8.1 Megapixel Camera

The first 8.1 Megapixel handset from Sony Ericsson, namely the C905 Cyber-shot, has just been officially announced, together with another phone created for users who like mobile photography: the S302.

After several rumors and leaked images, Sony Ericsson C905 is now confirmed and fully unveiled. The highlight of the new handset is, obviously, its 8.1 Megapixel camera, created by Sony Ericsson to be a real competitor to dedicated digital cameras. Aside from the high Megapixel count, the camera also features: Xenon flash, auto focus, image stabilizer, smart contrast, face detection, red eye reduction, geotagging and video recording (with video stabilizer).

The C905 photos can be geotagged thanks to the built-in GPS receiver. The accelerometer will allow for screen auto rotation when you go through your camera album. It's also got a TV-out port for watching your images on the TV.

The Sony Ericsson C905 is also armed with a 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display with scratch-resistant mineral glass cover. It's the first Sony Ericsson feature phone to feature Wi-Fi support - and there's even more. The Wi-Fi feature supports DLNA, which is basically a wireless media sharing protocol that runs on top of Wi-Fi. Nokia N96 has it too by the way.
The Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot is somewhere in the line of 104 x 49 x 18 (or 19.5) millimetres and weighs good 136 grams. It'll be available in Copper Gold, Ice Silver & Night Black in early Q4 2008 with a bundled 2 GB Memory Stick Micro M2.

Connectivity wise, it comes in three variants, two with full support for UMTS and HSDPA for the respective regions (yes, the Americas too). The battery is good for 380 hours of standby or 9 hours of talk on GSM networks, or 360 hours of standby or 4 hours of talk on 3G networks.

Even without the excellent camera, the C905 can be considered a high-end device, as the rest of its features include GPS (as well as A-GPS), Wi-Fi, a 2.4 inch scratch-resistant display with 262K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, stereo Bluetooth with A2DP, Media player, video streaming, FM radio, TV out, advanced Web and email capabilities, 3D games and a 2GB Memory Stick Micro card included in the package.

The upcoming mobile handset ‘Shino’ from Sony Ericsson is empowered with 8.1 megapixel camera in addition to optical zoom and face recognition technology. Frankly speaking, nowadays mobile phone camera technology is growing with such a pace that it’s standing tall in front of dedicated digital cameras.

Shino from Sony Ericsson will be released and it will fall under the 'Cyber-Shot' category. You will get Smart Contrast, Image Stabilization, Best Picture, Red-eye Reduction, Xenon Flash as well as photoflash, when it comes to photos and videos. It has built-in GPS with further support for A-GPS.

Shino is powered with 2.4" QVGA resolution scratch-resistant mineral glass TFT display. Other features like WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity will definitely be the part of Shino. No idea, how much it will cost; but will roll out in early Q4 2008 in Copper Gold, Ice Silver and Night Black colours.
