Is there a Kitkat update available for Karbonn Titanium S1

I am looking for a Kitkat rom for Karbonn Titanium S1. This device is still stuck on Android 4.1(Jelly Bean) operating system and officially Karbonn does not looks to be provided any fresh update for the same. I am want to install Kitkat on the same. New update means more new features and better battery output. I had checked under the software update an umber of time and also on the official site of Karbonn. They are not providing any download.

For that you will have to root your phone. Because officially there is no update available. The phone has Jellybean Os and it looks quiet nice. If you root you will loose the phone warranty. You can find ample of information about that on internet. Just search for the Karbonn Titanium S1 kitkat rom. You have to root the device first and then you have to add custom recover through which you will install the custom rom. This process can be risky.

Rooting is complicated if you had not done this before. The best thing you can do is check out a different set of guide and videos on the same. Which will help you to understand how it really works. And if you are ready to root then you must backup the existing rom before doing anything. You can try using Nandroid backup. This will create a zip package of your factory rom which you can restore if there is any issue in the device.

I saw one rom available on XDA. You can download and test that. You have to first root the phone and install TWRP. That will make the process more simple. Because after adding the custom recovery you just have to restart your phone and flash the firmware. That will do the job. But there is no guarantee that the rom will work really fine on your phone. There can be problem with the device. It is better you use it with the factory OS.

Rooting and flashing can be risky if you are not having the right rom and driver updates in your system. It is good to stick with your existing one. But there is a safer way available. As mentioned above you can root your device and backup the existing rom. Once done if you face any issue with custom rom you can just flash the stock rom back again and use it. In this way you can keep on testing new things on the phone.

As far as I know it is quiet safe to root and flash rom. Because there are many users who are testing and most of the time the rom works. There can be be performance issue. Like slow output from apps and games. Because this roms are already loaded with lots of new thing that slow down the phone. Rooting will void the warranty and once you are done with that you wont get any future OTA updates on the same.
