Is it safe if I create a personal wifi hotspot with My WIFI Router?

I would like to create a hotspot on my laptop with my wifi router software,I can set up the SSID and password very easily.But I wondering is it safe?Or it's better if I created one with wireless router?

It will be safe if you use a good password. One with special characters instead of only numbers or text it. The benefit of using router is that you get a active internet connection all the time. But in laptop you are limited. When you turn it off your wifi is also off. In router you get more better internet speed due to its bandwidth. If you are going to use the laptop wifi only for yourself then you can go ahead. But there are multiple users then stick with router.
