How to prevent Lumia phones from others access

This is Lumia 920, bought just abut a week ago and this is the first time i am using any Windows Phone. I keep several confidential Data, documents and emails in my phone. Now the problem i am facing is, i am not getting application to password lock my phone completely so that anyone else just cannot open it and have access to those important datas. In Android i had this option by using pattern or pin lock, also there were few applications that provide better security. But in Lumia i am not able to find it, neither there is any such application on Windows Store. So i wanted to know if there is any way we can password protect lumia phones as well? If yes, please let me know soon.

I dont understand why do you require a third party application for password protecting your phone if it is already built-in with Windows Phone 8. I guess you haven't explored the phone yet. It is right there in the Lock Screen Settings. You will find there a text field for New Password. Enter the same and save. Next time when you slide up the lock screen, it will ask you for password.

I am a lumia 920 user, but I guess as 520 is also running the same WP8 operating system, it should be having the Kids Corner as well. You can find it in Settings itself. By using the same you can create a separate user account on your phone with limited app access. Only apps accessible in second account will be the one allowed by you. On the other hand, your account will be password protected and nobody can access the same.

Just a small conclusion, in terms of security I found Lumia or Windows Phone 8 very good. You have everything required to secure your data.

Unlike Android phones, Windows Phone 8 has just the password and slide unlock features. But in Android we also have Pattern, face unlock, etc. I tried searching for apps which can bring those features in Lumia as well but unfortunately, there is nothing.
