I recently got my hands on Zync Z1000. Since I have Funbook Pro, I thought why not compare both as they have quite common features and they fall in the same price range as well. So here is a detailed comparison of both these tablets from my point of view.
Introduction:
Funbook Pro and Zync Z1000 Tablet both are 10” tablet pc. There is no much difference between their prices. Z1000 cost’s around Rs 10,990 whereas Funbook costs around Rs 10,000 approximately.
Design body:
Zync Z1000 has a Square 9.7” screen whereas Funbook Pro has Rectangular 10.1” Widescreen. Z1000 has complete Glossy finish black body with 1 speaker whereas Funbook has grayish background with 2 speakers. As far as weight is concerned, there is no much difference again.
Phone/Calling Features:
Funbook does not support phone calling feature as it doesn’t have sim slot. Zync Z1000 comes with SIM Slot and supports phone calling feature.
Resolution:
Z1000 has 9.7 Inch HD Capacitive Touch screen display that offers 1024 x 768 pixels resolution, its better compared to Funbook Pro’s 1024 x 600 with 10.1 inch screen. They both offer great fun while watching Movies, playing games etc. However, I personally don’t like watching movies on 4:3 aspect ratios. They both are capable of playing HD videos and some high end games as well. Z1000 has 4:3 Aspect ratio because of its square shape and Funbook pro has 16:9 Aspect ratio because of its wide screen.
Hardware:
Z1000 is powered by 1.5Ghz CPU, 1GB DDR RAM, Mali 400 3D and Open GL 2.0, 8GB Internal Memory and a powerful 7000 mAh battery. On the other hand Funbook pro is powered by 1.2 GHZ, 1GB DDR RAM, Mali 400 GPU, 8GB internal Memory and 5600mAH Battery. They both run Android ICS 4.0.4 operating system but only zync z1000 can be upgraded to JellyBean.
Camera:
Zync Z1000 has dual Camera, 2 MP Rear camera and front 0.3MP Camera for video calling. Funbook pro has single front 0.3MP Camera for video calling.
Connectivity:
For connectivity Z1000 supports Wifi, USB 2.0, Microsd card, hdmi port, 3.5 mm headphone, built in 3G, SIM Slot and Bluetooth 2.0. Whereas Funbook pro supports Wifi, USB 2.0, Microsd card, hdmi port, 3.5 mm headphone only.
Conclusion:
- Zync Z 1000 is a good tablet but is having some problem with wifi. We had tested both Funbook Pro and Zync Z100 on wifi. Compared to Zync, Funbook works much better for surfing and downloading
- Zync Z1000 features a SQUARE screen which is quite comfortable for watching movies and playing games. Whereas Funbook has widescreen which is good for surfing, eBooks and chatting
- Zync Z1000 has a superior battery backup compared to Funbook Pro.
- From Multimedia and gaming point of view, Zync Z1000 has Open GL 2.0 benefit. Otherwise both are same.
Final words: Overall i found Funbook Pro much better compared to Zync Z1000. If Zync can fix the Wifi problem, then this tablet can be one of the best budgets 10 inch screen with Call Feature.
