Samsung Galaxy Note 2 vs. Asus Padfone 2

I am willing to get a new phone and I have Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Asus Padfone 2 as my options. I am not aware of Asus Padfone 2 price yet and I haven’t used Asus products yet, some of my friends have bought Asus Padfone and are suggesting me to get Padfone 2 rather than Galaxy Note 2. I just want to know which one is better and worth.

Pricing information of Asus Padfone 2 has not been revealed yet it but it is expected to be priced at Rs 64,999. Which is way much higher as compared to Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - Rs 39,990. I don’t think getting Asus Padfone 2 will be worth unless you have enough to spend.

I will suggest you to get Samsung Galaxy Note 2 not because it is cheaper but because of the following reasons.
It can be used a WiFi hot spot
It has NFC
It has DLNA
It has a dual microphone
It has bigger screen with slightly higher pixel density
It has powerful battery - 3,100mAh
It has better front camera - 1.9 megapixels

These things are enough to point out that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is worth paying Rs 39,990.

The only unique and eye catching feature that I see in PadFone 2 is that it comes with PadFone Station which can convert it in to a 10.1 inch tablet. Its PadFone Station has 10.1 inch IPS display and massive 5,000 mAh battery to live it up. I think this is one of the main differences that can attract users who like to use hybrid device.



Price information has not been revealed yet but according to sources 32GB model might be sold for €799 where as 64GB version might cost €899.

The concept of Asus Padfone 2 is great, it can be used as Smartphone as well as tablet but the thing is that one will have to carry both. I mean the PadFone Station as well as Padfone 2 is.
However I don’t know how many of them will like this hybrid device. Except this unique feature I don’t see much difference between Padfone 2 and Galaxy Note 2. So even my vote goes for Galaxy Note 2, its worth getting.

I don’t think there should be any confusion, if you want to use a hybrid device than Asus Padfone 2 will be a better choice. You can use it as Smartphone or use it as a tablet whenever you want.
On the other hand if you want to use a cool Smartphone than you can get Galaxy Note 2 for sure.

If Asus Padfone 2 is actually priced at 64,999 than I don’t see any point in getting it. I would rather get Galaxy Note 2 and ipad mini within its price. It would be worth carrying a ipad mini rather than carrying PadFone Station.

At least we will get more storage space.
