Real Player vs VLC for Android Tablets

I bought a new Android tablet (mode is not so important ) yesterday and was loading apps. Now as i dont want to load some thing useless on my tab, i was stuck when searching for music and video player. I found many such as mx player, vlc, realplayer, etc. But as i have used RealPlayer and VLC on our PCs, i would like to go with any one of these. Could you guys please help me selecting one ?

Which one of these will be good for Android based tablets or smartphones ?

I haven't used any of these applications yet on my Android tablet, but if i'lll say according to my experience on PC, VLC is far much better than RealPlayer. It plays almost every video/audio format, there are many features as well as preferences and customizations. Its user interface is good and simple. Top of all its very light. Also when i checked its features on Google Play, i saw that it offers all those features in this mobile version as well.

Also if we compare their sizes on Google Play, Realplyer is of 12MB whereas VLC is just 7MB, it is light here as well. So if i need to choose any of these, i'll surely go with VLC.

It is not compulsory if any app is better on PC it will better than all on mobile as well. Talking about features for Android version RealPlayer vs VLC, realplayer offers huge list of features as follows:

    • Graphic equalizer with ability to save custom settings
    • Audio, videos and photos at one place
    • Optimized graphics for high-res devices
    • Sharing on popular social media sites
    • Auto bookmarking of videos
    • Home screen widgets to control media
    • Access any file format your device supports
    • lastFM scrobbling
    • No advertisements
    • And many more…

I don’t think VLC is offering all these. I am using realplayer and am very happy.

If you guys really want a good Audio/Video player, simply try out “Mx Player”. I am using this app since I started using Android and trust me, I dint liked any other player compared to this. It plays any format you have without installing codecs and all. You don’t need to touch any physical buttons of your device to fast forward movies or low/high volume, just scroll the screens and do what you want. It is too light and gives you best Video experience. I never faced a small lag even while playing 720p HD video.
