Will Samsung Galaxy S III work on T-Mobile

I have checked out specification of the Samsung Galaxy S III and I am just loving the phone and I am willing to get the same as well but then I just wanted to know if it will be working on T-Mobile, I meant that I want it to work it with T-Mobile but then I am not sure if it does or not, so is there anyone who has an idea about the same and can clear my doubt?? I have asked the same in other forums as well but then I have received varying answers, I also wanted to know if the phone is having 1700 and 2100 bands or not??

Re: Will Samsung Galaxy S III work on T-Mobile

I was looking for the same and I have found this:
    Radio type-
    • Comm standard -GSM
    • GSM type -GSM, GPRS, EDGE
    • GSM bands -850, 900, 1800, 1900
    • UMTS / HSPA type -HSDPA (21.1 Mbps), HSUPA
    • UMTS / HSPA bands -850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100
    • Subscriber identity- micro-SIM card

According to this it seem to be having 1700 and 2100 bands, I have checked out some other sites as well and have found the same. As far as the working of Samsung Galaxy S III is concerned I will like to inform you that a unlocked version of the phone will be work on T-Mobile. I also wanted to add that the unpacked app is saying 3g (hspa+ 21mbpa): 850/900/1900/2100 which is varying from many sites which are including 1700, I think that the Samsung's app is wrong but then I am not sure about the same as well.

In that case I will like to inform you that the T-Mobile calls 4G as their 3G HPSA network and they have not yet rolled out from the LTE so for getting the T-Mo 3G one will need to have phone supporting 1700/2100 band but then I really dint think that the international SIII model supports the same, there are a no of sites that have mentioned that it does but then I don’t think that we can trust them without fail, I personally think that it does not according to my research so you will be probably getting 2G (EDGE) speed which will be around 10-15kilobytes per second download, I think that It will be faster than 56k modem which will be better for web browsing and loading Google Maps, other than this I also wanted to add that the T-Mobile-locked model will support the HPSA+ 42Mbps speed where as the AT&T version will be having LTE.

Re: Will Samsung Galaxy S III work on T-Mobile

I have checked out the samsungmobilepress site and this is the complete Samsung GALAXY S III Product Specifications:

      • 4G (Dependent on market)
    • Display-4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED (1280x720) display
    • OS-Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)

    • Dimension- 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm, 133g
    • Battery- 2,100 mAh

So if this is not confirming 1700 then I don’t think that it will be supporting the same, the samsungmobilepress is a trust worthy site and I don’t think that they will be publishing anything wrong, so I don’t think that the international version won’t be working on T-mobile but then the Specifications that has been mentioned above might differ on the LTE version.

Re: Will Samsung Galaxy S III work on T-Mobile

This is what i have found from the gsmarena site:
    • 2G Network-GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
    • 3G Network -HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
    • 4G Network- LTE (regional)
    • Announced -2012, May
    • Status -Coming soon. Exp. release 2012, May

So this says no 1700 and I think the same as I have been checking out the specification of the phones from this site form a long site and have never found it to be publishing anything wrong, so Samsung Galaxy S III does not support 1700/2100 band.
