Missing %appdata%

As a total new individual to this site I have what I nwould call a defacult problem to solve.

I've been working on this laptop for several hours and have fixed numerous problems (Spyware, Worms, Viruses and the like) and the computer has gone from being slower than water attempting to go up a hill in January to running extremely fast. (Boot time 1:15 minutes.

Now I'm in the process of putting the normal programs on such as Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash and when I attempt to put on Java I keep getting this error that states it cannot find %appdata% and I have attempted myself and it does not show up.

Is it possible to re-create this folder or replace it?

Did you checked by unhiding the files also. Do that from folder option. Another basic thing you can try is running system restore. This can fix back the appdata thing in your system. The folder is not usually deleted on its own. And System restore is a good way to restore it.
