Sony Vaio suddenly shutdown

hi every one ....
i have sony vaio laptop with XP installed . it suddenly shutdowns some time at the begining of the startup or some times afeter using some time. or when i try to install new OS . when i reach to partition place it shut down . every time .
i have changed its hard . i have attached an extra cooling fan but no change in its performance ... n e one who can tell me the way out ????

Did you checked the battery. Did the laptop shutdown also when it is connected to the power adapter. If not then it looks a issue of bad battery. Shutdown occurs because of overheating, poor power support, improper battery, etc. Just check the following stuff and reply. Remove the battery and connect the laptop to the power outlet directly and turn it on. Then see whether it turns off or not.
