Features of Blackberry Storm 9530 OS:5.0.0.808/5.0.0.419

A Year back, the Blackberry Handheld Software v5.0.0.808 (Multilanguage) was released for Blackberry Storm 9530. The Package Version is 5.0.0.808 and it consists of:

• Applications: 5.0.0.419
• Software Platform: 4.2.0.179

The good thing was when this update was released, this was available for ANY carriers. I would like to know what features and bug fixed it was included.

I also knew about this OS update and at that time a strange thing I have noticed that this new OS update was almost identical to the previous version (5.0.0.674/5.0.0.419). It seems to me like they have only changed the package version and released with slight increment in version number. I don’t think that it has included new features. It might have contained a few bug fixes. That’s it.

I had also upgraded to this version shortly after the release. At first everything seemed and worked well but then started getting slight issues with BB Facebook application. The alerts getting were improper and look somewhat similar to the older version of app. For that reason I have reverted back to the Verizon's newest: 5.0.0.328/Platform 4.2.0.128. Now the Mobile Banking was started working again and there was no problem with the Facebook app. Figured out slight permission issue but it solved automatically.

I don’t think that there were any new featured included in the OS upgrade but I do noticed that I had lost one functionality after upgrading to .419 (package .808), I cannot right-click on music folders and make a playlist directly from Windows 7. It was possible directly and easily via drop-down menu on .328. Now that option was disappeared.

No matter if the OS is not on your carrier, you can install one of another nation as it were, now they are cross-platform language for various nations. Of course as you want to have updated, operators often report to mount their OS because they can work them. I mean block certain options. I live in Venezuela and mount the OS of International USA, and I'm with Digitel, and this operator works with the OS 4.xxxxx more outdated, and it runs very well anyway.
