BlackBerry Bold 9930 ESC key Bug

I really love this new device from BB. But never thought that I will get this annoying bug. I don’t know for that reason the ESC key only takes me to the task switcher. It doesn’t matter where I am like menu/application/screen, if I press ESC key, it takes me directly to the task switcher. I have to press the END CALL key to get to the home screen again and need to pull out the batter to fix it. But it comes back again.

It seems to me that you are not the only one getting this problem but all other users are also reporting about the same issue or bug on several forums and even on official forum. The BB bold 9900/9930 both phones are having the same kind of problem with the ESC key. So I can generally assume that it a software bug which came include with the stock. But don’t worry. Recently I have seen a new about Software update for BB OS 7 . Now you can update both phones to this new version software which contains several bug fixes, features and key improvements. Apparently it is known bug and known issue and I assume that BB hopefully address it in the next official update. But one thing you have to make sure that don’t go for any unofficial update. Installing unofficial releases for testing may brick your phone.

I have also encountered same problem and I don’t think that so far anyone come up with a good solution to fix this damn thing. I don’t wanna do a hard reset of my phone. I can only do the soft reset but I don’t think that it will solve the problem permanently. Even I don’t know whether there is a new OS from Verizon/RIM or not.
