SD card slot support for TomTom GO LIVE 825

I wanted to buy GO LIVE 825 Europe. I wanted to add USA map on the SD card of mine. however spec sheet for GO LIVE 825 is prompting with ‘SD Slot Yes* * Will be enabled via Software Update in Summer 2011’ are you aware of anything to overcome from the above mentioned problem? thanks a lot in advance.

As far as I know there is no update date has been announced by the developers. But I am expecting that they will provide the same as early as possible.

It is having 4GB internal memory. Euro maps cannot be loaded on your device as it will take around 3Gb of memory on the device. If you wanted to load the USA map then you will require to remove entire Euro Map package on your device. They should do provide some update for the SD card within some reasonable time period. So that there would not be any need to swap the map.

Another solution which I can suggest to you mobile phone based navigation system. we know that it is dependent on the what kind of phone as well as mobile internet do you using. However none of above would be an ideal solution. But it is pretty better than that of waiting for an update from TomTom.
