Can we run Dolby Home Theater v4 in lenovo laptops

I am using Lenovo ThinkPad W520 and wanted to know if the built in speakers are active or passive? Incase it is powered by sound card then are the 3rd party developer or something else can push the sound system better. I wanted to know a way to run the Dolby Home Theater v4 in my lenovo laptop. Thanks for any information in advance.

If your laptop has Conexant or Realtek sound card then you can try to download and install the Dolby Home Theater files from this link - https://skydrive.live.com/?sc=docume...BBC4CD97%21207. Note that both the 32bit and 64 bit edition driver is listed for download according to the operating system you have installed on your laptop.

After downloading from the above link you need to uninstall the existing Conexant or Realtek drivers from your lenovo laptop. Now go to the x86 or x64 folder and open DTPC.msi. After that click Next and then check Install content assets and also Install driver: DHT. Now click on Install and then wait for sometime for its installation to be finished. After that open Dolby Tuning and Profile Creator and then under All Tuning + Profiles, click Import. Now go to the folder where you store ThinkMix2.inx and open it. In your operating system, go to Control Panel and then View by Category: Hardware and Sound and then click Sound or Manage audio devices. Now click on View by Small / Large Icons: Sound. Right click and then check Show Disabled and Disconnected Device. Go to Playback tab and double click Speakers. Go to Advance Tab and then go to Default Format section and change the sample rate and bit depth to 24 bit, 192000 Hz and click ok. Do the same steps for headphones.

Note that you will need to install or follow the method given above with the admin rights or else it wont work. You will also need to install the PCEE driver first and then install the control software listed above in the link. Also, for taking care about installation interruption, temporarily disable all the antivirus and security software in your computer and also the UAC if necessary.
