Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3 3G mini pcie slot is not working

I am trying to unlock the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3 3G which comes with a different bios. The computer is able to boot fine with a 3rd party 3g modem card but after booting when I go into device manager then no where it is listed. I again tried to reinsert the card and it is the same thing. So, I think that the mini pcie slot might be disabled. How can I solve this issue? Thanks

Can you try to tape the pin 20 and see if that works. If you can manager to put a small piece tape on it then you can prevent it making any sort of electrical contact with the slot. The pin is actually a radio disable pin which is used for usb mini-pcie devices that actually causes complete disappearance.

You actually answered your own question and there is also no need to tape the pin 20 of the modem. It actually didnt work for the first time because it was not enabled by default. So, what you can do is try to connect in your 3G modem and start the netbook and then press FN-F5 and enable 3G and then Windows 7 will detect it and ask for drivers. The best part is that it is also not bios locked.

I also recently purchased a S10-3T and was trying to add an Ericsson F3607gw to the Pcie slot, but is fails all the time. Can anyone tell me how do I get it to working? I checked some suggestions that the S-103T needs to have a hacked BIOS to unlock the pcie slot. If this is true then how can I hack the BIOS and from where can I get the tools or file. Thanks
