Does Dell XPS 15 L502X (Intel Core i7-2860QM) can support 16GB RAM

I have Dell XPS 15 L502X laptop and I am really happy with it , now I am looking to upgrade my RAM on this Laptop , my option is 2x8GB 1333 SO-DIMM DDR3 that is 16 GB since I have read on the Intel that this mobo can support the 16GB RAM. Is there anyone here can tell me is it possible as I looked everywhere and not find any perfect answer to this I will be glad to know this

No I guess it’s not as far as I know about this laptop , its just support till 8 GB that means the 4GB X 2. Ans I am pretty sure about this , this laptop can only support till the 8 GB . 16 GB RAM will not supported on this laptop . hopes this helps

Well that a bummer really wanted this laptop to use the 16 GB of memory. Hey is it possible to tell me why is it so . is this is the hardware limitation or is it the BIOS limitation because my friend was saying other day that he had the XPS M1530 which can only support the 4GB memory but year later when he updated the BIOS the laptop was supporting 8 GB . is that the same case with this laptop also . please guys can you help me to find answer to this I will be glad

Well in that case I would like to associate this restriction of the memory to the BIOS but I am not sure about this whether it is true or not but the fact that this laptop is made to take only 8 GB of RAM to this moment

Well I was reading a article that was saying that the 16 GB of memory is compatible to the laptop so I have taken the risk , will get the memory on the local vender and already inform him if that don’t work I will be returning the RAM so hope this experiment works .

You don’t have to worry I have already installed the 16GB (2x8 Corsair DD3 1333Mhz) on my laptop and that is working absolutely fine on it , so I say there is no risk to that .
