Dell have told me that the T7800 in completely well-suited with the chipset, heatsink as well as fan however that the my M1510 wasn't designed for the T9500. I'm still looking out the thermal paste but the tech guy said any good thermal paste will do

Well my upgradation Is the new z68 motherboard as well as i3/i5 Sandy Bridge processor but before that I will get extra memory or else an SSD. 4GB is sufficient RAM for most users, except you like running virtual machines or a few dozen applications at once.

As far as i know the RAM will be running on the 667 MHz and that is maximum for this Intel chipset PM965. The new core 2 CPU that is the P-series and X9100 , I doubt that it will work on the M1530. It will be requiring new chipset as well. The new Latitude E-series are currently supporting this CPU

Hey I would like to say that the you can upgrade to the X9000 as far as the CPU is concern. But that will be expensive cost wise and probably will be too much for the XPS M1530's cooling system to handle. your best option according to me is T9300

Well if you ask me I suggest you that the best CPU as far as the expense is concern be the t9300, It is P(penryn 45nm technology) 2.5 ghz, 6 mb l2 cache. as well you be able to put equal to 6 GB of ram with the A09 bios. You need toplace the 4 GB sodimm in slot b, as well as 2 GB in slot A. However, you have to be running 64 bit OS , to make use above 3.2 gb of ram. I have upgraded my cpu as well as ram plus os, and this 1530 actually scream for a laptop. Getting the newer SLC Solid State Hard drives. to make mini laptop faster XPS M1530, A12 bios, Intel C2D T9300, 8 Gb (2x4) G-Skill Ram, 1 Gb Intel TCM, WD 320 7200 rpm hd, Intel 4945 wireless card, Sprint broadband card, bluetooth, x-fi express card, Hp Digital express card tuner, Vista Ultimate x64 sp2

Thanks for the reply I really appreciate . I will definitely won’t go of the T5550 in for now and T9x00 is the good option for me and will see if that is available on the eBay . it really awful that the P series wont compatible though that will help to solve the heating issue

I want to make my Dell XPS M1530 laptop faster and if I am not wrong then it is correct that I can use the 8 GB of ram if I update my bios to the A12 BIOS ?
