How to connect traditional speaker to Ipod Mini Jack

Does anyone know how to connect the traditional speaker cable to an ipod mini jack? There are set of bookshelf speakers. The input of those speakers is traditional 16g wire. There are no jacks or port behind speakers.

As far as I know that the iPod is not powerful enough to drive those speakers. The ipod will only work on those active speakers which have integrated power supply and amplifier. Otherwise you have to connect the speakers to amplifier and then connect the amplifier to the ipod using a compatible cable.

The apple ipod is a revolutionized portable music player. It is a Lightweight and portable music player which is capable to hold entire music library. This personal music device changed the way of listening music. One more feature of iPod is, it is not limited headset playback only. With little knowledge and appropriate cable connections or configurations, you can transfer and get music from large external speakers or on car stereo.

The iPod has standard 1/8-inch mini jack

    There are 2 options actually.
    1. First one is using the Stereo cable. It will need headphone input on speaker. It might be labeled as "AUX" or "MP3”. Connect the one end to there and other end to ipod mini jack. You will not get the surround sound system for that you will need a receiver.
    2. If there is an input panel on speakers, then you can use the 3.5 mm stereo adapter cable. You need to connect 2 ends of the cable to the "Aux," "CD" or "DVD" ports and other end to the iPod

Before connecting the ipod to the speakers, you have to know the difference between the inputs and outputs. Your speakers must be driven by stereo amplifier. Now ipad will acts as a source device or input device which will connect to the amplifier. I hope that there is an RCA jack on the stereo and this is where you have to connect the iPod. You can make use of the different adapter for easy connections but make sure that it will not lost the quality of sound.

The apple store is a perfect place to find Accessories or cables for iPod. No matter what kind of ipod you use, you will get good and compatible Accessories there. One you can find is the Belkin Headphone Adapter. You can harvest the audio signal using this adapter without losing the control over the iPod's basic operations. After isolating the audio signal from ipod, connect any 3.5mm cable from adapters or amplifier with necessary amplification and OHM level to boost your external speakers.
